What happens if I don't get hired?

To confirm, we do not guarantee that you will get hired. This is simply out of our control and thus, not something we can promise! We do not act as a recruiting service and do not have influence over the hiring decisions of hiring managers or companies.

Our goal is that once you do everything in Career Strategy Lab, you're set up for the rest of your career with the knowledge and tools to navigate future job searches. Many of the templates, worksheets etc are downloads, so you will have a robust library of materials that will be yours forever. (To be clear though, after 6 months, you will no longer have access to anything – the materials, calls, critiques, community, etc.)

Although our goal is that everyone gets hired, not everyone does. These people tend to not do the work. They don’t show up! It would be like purchasing a Peloton bike and not riding it. It seems odd that people would do this, yet people do this! Another reason is that people don’t follow our process. For example, we give you specific and detailed templates for your resume, portfolio, etc. Sometimes people decide to go rogue and veer away from our templates. This often results in them taking much longer to finally have “application ready” materials, thus delaying their job search. We’ve created all the materials in CSL based on a lot of research and testing, and we know they work!

Also, when it comes to the job search, many people don’t follow our process. It might seem counterintuitive, but our approach is not to play the numbers game. Instead, we give you everything you need to find roles through people (eg. social media, communities, cold outreach, etc). Some people are shy about this, but we give you cut and paste the message and email scripts to use! And guess what, when people follow this process, they get more interviews.

Ultimately, getting hired requires that you do the work it takes to get hired. We have systems in place inside CSL to try and identify people who might be disengaged so we can try to help to get them on track proactively. CSL has all the tools and support you need, but at the end of the day, you must show up and take personal responsibility.
